Jesus and shall it ever be?
耶穌，到底是否可能？
A mortal man ashamed of Thee?
竟然有人羞認你名？
Ashamed of Thee, Whom angels praise,
你名乃是天使所頌，
Whose glories shine thro’ endless days?
榮耀光輝照耀不停！

Ashamed of Jesus! sooner far
竟然有人羞認主名，
Let night disown each radiant star:
無異黑夜羞認明星！
’Tis midnight with my soul, till He.
我心本來暗如夜半，
Bright Morning Star’, bid darkness flee.
祂這晨星，使暗變明。

Ashamed of Jesus! O as soon
竟然有人羞認主名，
Let morning blush to own the sun;
無異清晨羞認朝陽！
He sheds the beams of light divine,
主是朝陽，光華四射，
O’er this benighted soul of mine.
照明我的如夜天良。

Ashamed of Jesus! that dear friend
竟然有人羞認主名，
On whom my glorious hope depends?
我們屬天盼望所賴；
No, when blush, be this my shame,
我心慚愧，我臉含羞，
That I no more revere His Name.
因我不覺祂名可愛。

Till then—nor is the boasting vain—
直到那日，我心所誇，
Till then, I boast a Savior slain;
仍是救主為我受死；
And, O may this my glory be,
這是我的永遠榮耀，
That Christ is not ashamed of me.
基督竟不以我為恥。
