First the blood, and then the ointment,
後是膏油，先是寶血，
Cleansing, then anointing comes;
要得滋潤先得潔；
If we pass not thru Golgotha,
若不是經過各各他，
Ne’er to Pentecost we’ll come.
必不能到五旬節。
If the blood has never cleansed us,
我們若還未蒙洗淨，
Ne’er the Spirit’s pow’r we’ll know,
能力必不從上傾；
If for Christ we’d truly witness,
我們若是要作見證，
Self-life to the Cross must go.
必須釘死己生命。

Through the Cross, O Lord, I pray,
故求主藉十字架，
Put my soul-life all away;
治死我的魂生命；
Make me any price to pay,
使我願出大代價，
Full anointing to receive.
來滿受主的聖靈。

Christ, the Rock, must first be smitten,
先是用杖擊打石盤，
That the living water flow;
後來活水纔溢漫；
Without death the Spirit’s fulness
死亡若是未作過工，
Ne’er could dwell in man below.
聖靈必定不充滿。
If with Christ we die completely,
我們若真同主受死，
Willing thus our all to lose,
願意萬有都損失，
He will clothe us with His power
主的能力就要降臨，
And to win the world will use.
使用我們救亡世。

First the altar, then the fire,
先是祭壇後纔是火，
If no loss, there’ll be no gain;
若沒喪失就沒果；
If our all has not been offered,
若不先將所有奉獻，
To the throne we’ll ne’er attain.
必定不能登寶座。
If to sacrifice we’re willing,
我們若是真肯犧牲，
All forsaking, God t’obey,
捨棄萬事降服神，
He to us will be committed
我們必定得著能力，
And thru us His pow’r display.
因主信託順從人。

First we must prepare the vessels
先是豫備瓶子都空，
That the Oil they may contain;
後是膏油盛其中；
Dig the valley full of ditches
先是山谷挖成渠溝，
That they may be filled with Rain.
後是活水纔深泓；
First we must go thru the Jordan
我們先經過約但河，
Ere anointed from above;
後纔靈感加倍多；
First in death we must be baptized,
先肯接受死亡浸洗，
Then experience the Dove.
後得榮耀的聖鴿。

When we see the ripened harvest
當你舉目觀望禾田，
Of the golden countryside,
金榖豐盈你稱羨；
We may know that many seeds have
當思果實尚未生時，
Fallen to the earth and died.
就有麥種死在先。
Ere the fruit of life may blossom,
若想要得生命子粒，
We must surely suffer death;
須有死亡的經歷；
If with Christ we’ve not been buried,
凡是人未到髑髏地，
We’ll not feel the Spirit’s breath.
就無聖靈的能力。

Since it must be thus, I pray, Lord,
既是這樣，故求我主，
Help me go the narrow way;
使我忠誠走窄路，
Deal with pride and make me willing
除去我的雄心大志，
Thus to suffer, Thee t’obey.
只願順服並受苦；
I for greater power pray not.
更大能力我不求取，
Deeper death is what I need;
更深的死我所需；
All the meaning of the Cross, Lord,
但願十架所有意義，
Work in my—for this I plead.
完全成功在我軀。
