Lord, our earnest expectation
主，我所盼望、所切慕，
Is that Christ be magnified,
乃是基督能顯大；
And in all our circumstances
無論生死，無論樂苦，
Universally applied.
叫我持守不偏差。

Lord, in nothing will we be ashamed,
主，沒有一事能叫我羞愧，
Though in suffering, hardship, loss,
雖損失、艱苦並難為，
But in all things Christ shall be expressed,
凡事仍叫基督照常顯出，
Life shall triumph through the cross!
生命借著十架流露。

This shall turn to our salvation,
這事藉眾聖徒祈禱，
Through the Spirit bountiful
並全備之靈幫助，
And the prayers of all the members,
完全救恩終必達到！
For a testimony full.
這見證何等豐足。

Lord, we praise You for the pattern
主，你虛己，存心順服，
Of a living crucified,
竟死在十字架上；
And the Father’s exaltation
被神升高，萬膝拜服，
Of Yourself so qualified.
何等完美的榜樣。

O how blest, this living pattern
何等有福，今這榜樣，
Now is being wrought in ust
已作到我的心裡！
Crucifixion, exaltation—
卑微受死，高升天上，
Our salvation marvelous.
如此奇恩真希奇。

We will work out our salvation
故當作成得救工夫，
Through the operating God,
因我們立志行事，
Through the willing and the working
乃神運行心裡之故，
Wrought within us by the Lord.
為要成就祂美旨。

Then we’ll blameless be and guileless,
我們就能無可指摘，
Shining in the world as light,
好像明光來照耀，
In a crooked generation
在這彎曲悖謬時刻，
Holding forth the word of life.
表明出生命之道。

Let us stand firm in one spirit,
要在主裡行事為人，
Always striving with one soul,
與基督福音相稱；
That for Jesus’ testimony
同心努力，同靈站穩，
God through us may reach His goal.
成為耶穌的見證。
