Thou art the everlasting Word,
你乃是那永活的道，
The Father’s only Son,
父的獨生兒子，
God manifestly seen and heard,
在你，神被聽聞、看到，
And heav’n’s beloved One.
天上蒙愛之子。

Worthy, O Lamb of God, art Thou,
神的羔羊，惟你是配，
That ev’ry knee to Thee should bow!
萬眾屈膝，萬口讚美！

In Thee, most perfectly expressed,
在你，父的榮耀照射，
The Father’s glories shine,
完全顯露無遺，
Of the full Deity possessed,
你有豐滿神性、美德，
Eternally Divine!
永遠神聖至極！

True image of the Infinite,
你是“無限者”的真像，
Whose essence is concealed;
神性豐盛蓄藏；
Brightness of uncreated light,
你是“非受造者”榮光，
The heart of God revealed.
神心從你顯彰。

But the high myst’ries of His name
你名所含極大奧秘，
The creature’s grasp transcend;
造物豈能知曉，
The Father only [glorious claim]!
父神獨一、榮耀心意，
The Son can comprehend.
惟子全部知道！

Thro’out the universe of bliss,
你是萬有中心意義，
The center Thou, and Sun,
如日之於此世；
Th’ eternal theme of praise is this,
永世頌讚只此一題：
To heav’n’s beloved One.
天上蒙愛之子。
